As an investment professional for more than 25 years, Don McKenna understands the importance of carefully guiding his clients’ financial affairs with the same commitment he gives his own. It is his mission to help them establish financial plans by setting realistic goals and expectations, and implementing investment, tax, and financial strategies consistent with their needs. He strives for long-term financial relationships, and relishes the large "extended family" he has developed over the years.

Don offers a variety of services, specializing in financial planning and investment management for individuals and nonprofit agencies, as well as personal retirement planning and employer-sponsored retirement plans.

After earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Boston University in 1965, Don spent 17 years in manufacturing management prior to establishing his investment business in 1982. In 1992, he demonstrated his commitment to and expertise in the area of financial planning by earning the highly regarded CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional designation. He is also an active member of the Northeast New York chapter of the Financial Planning Association.

Don has been a resident of Shaftsbury, Vermont, for 35 years. He lives there with his wife, Melanie. His four sons, Michael, Keith, Brendan and Brian are married and live in the area.

Don has always been an active member in the community and currently is a member of the Bennington Rotary Club. Past areas of community service include serving as a trustee for the Bennington Rescue Squad, trustee of Public Funds (Shaftsbury), school board director for Mount Anthony Union High School, and various coaching positions for youth athletic programs.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, Certified Financial Planner,  CFP Logo Flame Design and  CFP Logo Plaque Design in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board’s initial and ongoing certification requirements.
